Food for Thought-A Poem on John the Baptizer (Mark 1:1-8)

To come, to listen,
To hear and seek,
To upset the old time religion,
Which is interminably weak,
Under the tinsel as it glistens,
Something new begins to speak,
Words and aromas assault our cognition,
From around the corner I spot bare feet,
Old beliefs and new faith are in collision,
As John from the wilderness invades our seats,
“Look,” says he, a messenger comes to end division,
Prepare a way, clear the path, destroy the oblique,
This you can see without an optician,
What’s coming next will not be a tweak.
